Colts, Community Partners Build IPS School Playground

More than 150 volunteers from the Indianapolis Colts and various local partners joined together on Tuesday, Sept. 21 for “Colts Community Tuesday” and built a new playground and outdoor classroom at Sankofa School of Success #99 in Indianapolis.

Colts players, cheerleaders and staff were on hand to work alongside volunteers from Indianapolis Public Schools, Rebuilding Together Indianapolis, and Sinclair Recreation. Other partners included Lucas Oil Products, Howard Companies, Ingredion Incorporated, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, Legends Global Merchandising, Pepper Construction, OEG, Republic Services, Salesforce and SYNLawn Indiana.

The build was the 13th school playground and campus rehabilitation the Colts and community partners have built in Indianapolis since 2008.

“We appreciate our longstanding partnership with the Colts,” said Ali Brown, executive director of Rebuilding Together Indianapolis. “Improving playgrounds in our Indy neighborhoods enhances Rebuilding Together Indianapolis’ mission of ‘repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives.’ We appreciate the opportunity to help the Colts and community partners make a positive impact on the lives of students and faculty of Sankofa School of Success #99.”
