Rebuilding Together Indianapolis to Work on 9 Homes During National Rebuilding Day

Rebuilding Together Indianapolis volunteers will repair nine homes in the Twin Aire neighborhood on Saturday, April 27 as part of National Rebuilding Month and National Rebuilding Day.

Rebuilding Together Indianapolis provides assistance—with to no-cost to the homeowner—to people who, because of physical limitation or low income, are struggling to cover the costs of needed home repairs. Rebuilding Together Indianapolis is an affiliate of Rebuilding Together, the leading national nonprofit organization with a mission to repair the homes of people in need and revitalize our communities.

The work began earlier this month with skilled labor provided by the Indiana Union Construction Industry during Union Build Day on April 13.

This year is the 20th anniversary of Rebuilding Together Indianapolis.

“We have touched the lives of more than 400 individual homeowners to help them live in a safe and healthy environment,” said Bill Davis, executive director of Rebuilding Together Indianapolis. “In addition, updating and upgrading the homes has a positive ripple effect on the homes’ surrounding neighborhoods and our community as a whole. It’s a great feeling.”

“Investing in our neighborhoods is an essential part of our city’s progress,” said Mayor Joe Hogsett. “When organizations like Rebuilding Together Indianapolis are able to provide critical assistance and repairs to homeowners in need, we create an environment that supports permanent, stable housing for our residents and a healthier city overall.”
