Over 600 Volunteers Revitalize 19 Homes for Gameday 2011

This year's Rebuilding Together game day was a huge success! Joining more than 200 affiliates across the U.S., Rebuilding Together Indianapolis worked in the Near Eastside of Indianapolis to revitalize 19 homes. The event drew more than 600 volunteers from local companies and union trades.  The opening ceremonies were attended by Mayor Greg Ballard along with other local celebrities.  Work on the homes included everything from a new roof, plumbing, and staircase to landscaping, painting, and clean-up.

The weather cooperated and it was a beautiful day for volunteers to work hard to complete all the projects for each home. Volunteers were even visited by Indianapolis Colts Safety, Jamie Silva. Jamie met and took photos with both homeowners and volunteers and even got down and dirty working to   help pull weeds and clean up Dorothy's yard.

A big thanks goes out to all the volunteers and contributors who make this special event happen.
